Hotel Anne D'Anjou, The Originals Collection - Saumur

The hotel restaurant woudl ve been lovely if we could actually get there without getting drenched in the rain. Those old yellowish towels really don't scream 'luxury. ' I almost left a good review, but the swimming pool was way too cold for even a dip, and no one bothered to ensure it was heated. Sigh.

Great location in the shadow of the chateau and close to town with well-appointed rooms and very professional and friendly staff.

Le Menestrel Restaurant attached to hotel - last time we had a great meal there. This time the chef decided to be adventurous with the sauce flavours for the fish which ended up bitter and rather unpleasant. But it may just be my taste and you might love it.

Great location - literally on the bank of Loire and right in the centre of Saumur. Nice view of the Chateau from the hotel, spacious rooms, the restaurant is around the corner from your room and is very good.

Heating was not on - had to ask about it, but was resolved with a portable radiator. Very low water pressure in the bathroom made taking a shower a bit of a pain.

I booked it many times and couldn't recommend more. Clean and wonderful old hotel with perfect and nice location in garden at € 12, just what I needed. The staff was friendly efficient and especially helpful and provided efficient service...

The hotel was beautiful with a great view of the Chateaux. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. All the reception rooms, the bar, the lounge, etc. were great.

I knew our room was one of the cheaper rooms when we booked but it was a bit spartan and didn't seem to fit with the overall luxury of the hotel.

Couldn't recommend more for a quick layover

Comfortable room, cute staff, with a huge walk-in shower and a good breakfast spread that highlights local flavors.

Excellent welcome, beautiful hotel interior, view of chateau.

On our return from dinner the room was infested with flies as we had left windows open in the heat. Fly spray from the night porter successfully got rid of them and we understand it is a problem with the river and the heat. It might be wise to inform guests in advance.

Couple's perfect getaway

The staff were cute, even upgraded our room. The view of the river from our room was amazing, and the bed. Man, it was so comfortable, I didn't want to leave!

It wasn't exactly a bargain, but for what we got, it was still acceptable.

Great welcome. Lovely location; quiet room overlooking chateau. Delicious meal in thoughtfully laid out dining room. A delightful hotel with obliging staff. Will certainly stay again.

Only reservation is that exterior path between dining room and main house should be lit as path is uneven and it is difficult to see steps etc., leaving potential for a nasty fall for an elderly person or for someone with mobility problems.

Excellent person at reception at the time of checkin. Beautiful view of the Saumur castle from our room. Situated on the Loire river next to the historic town center.

Other staff not particularly friendly or knowledgeable.
